I am almost certain you can not use this for verizon, since verizon bought out alltel you can only use verizon phones. This would be a great phone for prepaid. I use to have one and it is a great phone and works great.

Actually, you can use this on Verizon. I used this phone on Alltel for almost a year and a half and then Verizon bought out alltel and my service was switched over automatically to Verizon with this same phone.

In fact, about 2 weeks ago my new bb curve fell in a lake and I went back to this pearl for a couple days until either my new one dried out or insurance sent me a new one. Well it did dry out and this pearl was a life saver until my curve worked. It was just a point of logging into my verizon wireless account and entering the ESN number on the pearl to activate it.
