White Soul is a sweet and aromatic variety that does not put out runners. Very productive fruiting plant that produces spring, summer and fall. Second year plant really increases fruit! I collect these berries (as in all alpine strawberry) freeze them as I collect them then use for making alpine strawberry jelly,milkshakes, over ice cream, breakfast over pancakes, or anything you would use strawberries on. Since growing alpines, the flavor is huge in these small berries and well makes up for their size. Many people including myself prefer alpines over regular strawberries! Once you grow and harvest them yourself, you will see and taste the difference. The leaves are also very good for making herbal tea! They grow best in dappled shade and water well until the roots are established then they can handle drier conditions but I try to water mine in summer at least once to two times a week. These have also been cold treated so you will not need to do that.
