Everyone is aware of the Kennedy Half Dollars but the Sacagawea Dollars are lesser known.
The motif depicts Sacagawea, a young Native American Shoshone as conceivd by artist Goodacre. On her back she carres Jean Baptit\sts, her infant son. The reverse shows an eagle in flight designed by Rogers.
She was an interpreter and guide to explorers Louis and Clark during their famed journey westward.
These coins have a distinctive golden color and a plain edge to disguish them from other denominations or coins of a similiar size.
