if you want the truth I do not know. I don't think it is plastic. to heavy did not stick to magnet, but looks like metal. not glass.i am sorry I could not help you more. . I bought them for me. but my eye sight is fading. I paid around 16 dollars for both these. and did not see that small place that was not covered. I have had these many years they are very pretty. I think they were some kind of stone. thank you for looking
