I can't even think of what it must have been like for you..... My husband's Dad is gone (26 yrs now) and his mom is in a nursing home creating havoc daily (no help available from his side). My sisters have been around but it's still tough on all of us. Tomorrow we have his mom in the am and my dad in the pm. I'll keep your # handy - thanks *hugs*

I know, right? YAY for you on the MK !!! ( I am soo going high on your Philosophy - don't you worry about that!) These last two weeks have been not so good on most of my things.... I think most people are distracted by the real world instead of the virtual one. Today was the first day I didn't get up to see my dad :( I was suffering with a migraine these last two days and have been really wiped, probably stress. He's been in a good routine with PT and OT and the nurses have hime walking between 20 - 50 feet 2x a day. He was switched to a longer acting pain med to help control the pain during all the recovery workouts thru the day. There is a discharge planning meeting tomorrow am to help plan his home needs, the tentative date is next Mon or Tues. I just hope he doesn't regress as I watch my mom baby him and do everything for him while she's there.. Ugghh ... I love them both but sometimes it's hard telling them what to do because they aren't hearing what's being said!!! I start an assignment in a new school (same district) I haven't worked in before, I find out the child I'm assigned to tomorrow... I hope it's a little one - I love the young 'uns. :)

We moved him to the rehab, today was his first full day. He needs to have some meds tweaked a bit and his calorie intake upped. He has PT in the am and OT in the afternoon. I think my mom is ready to leave him by himself a little longer so we all will get some routine back; we'll see after the weekend. Thanks for thinking of us :)

Morning! Heading back to the hospital to check on my dad, thanks again for you love & thoughts. JK, this go out Monday as I am carpooling with my sisters today. =}

No such thing Ellen, we just have the same great taste! BTW - my dad's surgery went 4 1/2 hrs... A few more vertabrae than the dr anticipated, but no rods or screws (yay!) we find out Monday about rehab - thanks for the well wishes =}
