Description

The listing, Stashbusting- Mixed lot of yarn! (may be more to be added?) has ended.

Stashbusting! 29 lil' balls of color- all were reballed in order to save space for shipping. There is some worsted weight, but I would say most of this is acrylic- some may be nylon and would be best used for rugs, placemats, coasters, that sort of thing. I make wearable objects, and these just won't do, lol.. I thought about keeping all this for a scrapghan, but I have way too much yarn and too little time- so have at it!
It is VERY likely that I'll add more to this as I go through everything I have here, so feel free to check back!

Pic #1 is the box, filled with all 29 balls.
Pic #2 is the bottom layer of the box, so you can see how tightly packed it is- there is still room on the top layer, so you never know what else might be added!

Leave me comments as to what you think could be added... you just never know...patterns, hooks, anything is possible. =grinning= And the higher the bids go, the higher that likelihood is!

Could you possibly name all of the colors. I have a feeling the picture is not showing the true shades. Of course I could be wrong, lol! F & W

hmm.. i can try! Now keep in mind, while I'm pretty good at discerning fiber content, these were all from my late grandmother's stash, and nothing was labeled. There is just more in my own personal stash than I will *ever use, and these were the least likely that I would use of what I got from her before she passed.
Starting clockwise, in the first pic: in the upper right corner, those are black- then tan (seem woolish), acrylic/shimmery tan, worsted red, acrylic/nylon maroon, acrylic/shimmery brown, then acrylic/nylon rust (this is the stuff I am thinking would be best for rugs, as it is not soft at all, and seems durable enough for foot traffic), acrylic/shimmery sapphire blue (I almost kept this!), worsted red, and worsted light blue. As far as my eyes go, the pic does seem true to real life.
In the second pic: again starting upper right and moving clockwise- black, wooly tan, worsted red, lots of shimmery brown as well as some wooly brown, more acrylic/shimmery tan, more acrylic/nylon rust, acrylic/shimmery green, wooly rust, and finally some wooly grey. =whew!=

Oh, also wanted to know the total weight of yarn. It would give me an idea of how much is there. Thanks!

Wow- no idea, honestly, but right now it pretty much fills a 12x12x6 Large flat-rate priority box. I would guess at about 2 lbs of yarn at this point. I've also added 2 more balls of green and 1 of a nylon navy blue.

So some of it is rug yan and some can be used for afghans? Maybe most of it is rug yarn?

I would say most of it can be used for afghans, and about 5-6 of these balls could be used for a doormat.

I would say you can use about 90% of this for shawls- but the other 10% are definitely more suited for utility items like placemats, coasters, or rugs.
