1st they are really expensive between $40-$90 depending on where you get them but then, if you don't have someone who knows how to do it then you can screw up your phone bad t my husband has a really cool one he put on & we just got the H.K today but it takes like 4-7 hours to put it on which I think he's nuts but he enjoys doing it lol

I do think it would protect well as long as you didn't drop it flat on the screen. It fits flush with the iPhone in front but around the sided and the back would be very well protected because it's thick. Also it has a wrist band that should help to keep you from dropping it.
