Boulder City Artist Profile
Rosemarie Iliano is currently the President of the Boulder City Art Guild for a third time. She does a good job... as she does with her art work.
Watercolor is her primary medium with a bit of pen and ink incorporated for emphasis. She loves Southwest Native American culture and has studied it for many years. Most of her work centers on the Native American way of life. Indian ruins such as Mesa Verde in Colorado are one of her favorite subjects along with desert cactus, old buildings and mining towns in Nevada. Native American clay pottery and the intricate designs are one of her best sellers in art shows and galleries.
Rosemarie’s roots are in Cleveland, Ohio where she was raised, married, had four children, worked until retirement in 1994 and moved to Boulder City with her late husband Joe. Joe was a retired policeman and worked in security in Las Vegas while Rosemarie became a full-time artist and part-time housekeeper.
Her background in art includes a seminar with Daniel Greene in 1996, joining the Art Guild in 1996, and attending a workshop with Max Bunnell in 1997. She accepted the position of Secretary of the Art Guild in 1997 and has been active on the Board ever since.
She has shown her work in Boulder City for the past ten years and also at the Bristlecone Art In The Park, Summerlin Celebration of the Arts and the Green Valley Fine Arts Festival.
Her spare time is usually spent working with the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Preceptor Gama.
Her work is available in the Boulder City Art Guild Gallery in the Boulder Dam Hotel. Visit the Boulder City Art Guild at www.bouldercityartguild.org
