The listing, Mystery Montserrat 3p MH has ended.

It has the color of Scott #16 & 26, however no watermark was detected.
Could be #35 with a color error???
? ink smears throughout.
Has gum fault.

Questions & Comments

Well wouldn't it still have a watermark if it were a color error #35? Perhaps it's a watermark error (i.e. lack thereof?). Which would be more likely with the #16 since it's a single crown per stamp vs multiples. Great auction! More mystery stamps please!! : )

Thank you for your comment. I do not believe that the paper used for Sc#35 has watermarks. As for the watermarks, the crown of #2 is significantly large and difficult to miss. Definitely this stamp is a fluke. Thanks again for sharing your expertise.
