Whimsical Accent, Rare Kitchen Curio - Vintage French's Mustard Advertising Chef "Hot Dan" Ad Spoon. Circa 1930's .
Vintage French's Mustard advertising ad spoon has Chef 'Hot Dan' on the handle and does have "French's Mustard" embossed on the back of the handle, plus "Made in the USA" and made out of Beetleware. It is in excellent condition and measures 4 1/4 inches long. Color: French yellow. Circa 1930's. 1935 Patent Date. Made in the USA. I will also be posting another auction for the 1950's version spoon exactly like this - but in the '50's it was made of regular plastic - and you can really tell the diffrence between the Beetleware and regular Plastic.
Trivia
In March 2003, the maker of French's mustard, worried that some Americans could have been motivated to boycott its product because of the French-led campaign against the Iraq war, issued a news release saying it had no connection with France.
The mustard is manufactured in Springfield, Missouri. Previous facilities located in Fresno, California and Souderton, Pennsylvania were closed in the 1990s and consolidated into Springfield, Missouri.
