I have for you a book page with the loyal Landseer Newfoundland , ‘Bob,’ who was found in a shipwreck off the coast of England in the 1800s. The page was plucked from a badly damaged Prang Graphic Drawing book series . . . bound for the trash. I can’t imagine these fine pages going to waste, and it is a great pleasure to offer them for display or to re-something them (I've already re-something'd several pages into gift envelops!).

As the story goes, the dog found his way to the London waterfront where he became known for saving people from drowning . . . 23 in the course of 14 years. He was made a distinguished member of the Royal Humane Society (granting him a medal and access to food!). Sir Edwin Landseer, known for his beautiful paintings of dogs and other animals, bequeathed the painting to a museum in 1887. The Kennel Club loaned it in 2009 in order to form part of the Pets & Prizewinners exhibition at the Kennel Club Art Gallery in London.

The Landseer European Continental Type Newfoundland was named after the fine Sir Edwin Landseer.

The creamy vintage page, measuring 10 3/8” by 7 7/8”, can be snipped and mounted to accommodate the important stuff. It is blank on the back.
