The listing, NICE-Antique Picture/photo in Gold and Woodand leather Frame has ended.

This is an awesome picture of a gentleman. Unknown person, unknown age of photo. You can tell that it is old due to how he is dressed. Nice frame of wood, leather, and gold. I am not sure if this is real gold, but I do know it bends easily. A must have for antique picture collectors.

kinda creepy, but this picture looks like the man has a gunshot in his forehead...maybe he is someone important?? wouldn't that be cool. I have never taken the time to look it up...maybe someone will get lucky and find that gem!! Good Luck!

These are called ambrostype photos pre Civil War era...and yes he could've been dead when the photo was taken. They did that quite often back then if they didn't have a picture of the person prior to his/her death. I don't remember the name of those, but they've got a name as well. These are hard to find and yes that could be gold or brass around the inside of the frame, they are quite collectable and expensive. They normally come with two sides that close up like a book with a latch...Nice photo...fan & watching...
