Talking about seting the bid you have to have done so many auctions before you can set the bid, I found that out when I started and tried to set my bib and it would'nt let me. F&W, love the lamp need one that works. I hope you can find out about this one. Did you call hardware store and ask about wicks, like LOWES. They might could answer your question. They do start bidding big at last.

Thanks for the comment, and yes I have looked in the everyday places and could only find flat, wide wicks that fit most lamps. I'm sure if I went to a specialty store I would have found one. I was able to set the bid on all my other auctions. Thanks for watching, good luck and fanned you back!!

o also, i found that providing my own box to ship items in is cheaper, for me to ship a shoe box size to california with tracking was 8.20 and im in missouri. its all about the weight, i also ask for postal money orders, the ones you can get at the post office. do you know what kind of payment you are excepting?

hi i am very sorry you are unhappy but usually the bidding doesn't get real high until the last day and even minutes before the bidding is over... also if you have a pay pal account people can make payment that way or you can ask people to send you the money by money order or concealled cash ... if you don't have pay pal its pretty easy to get one even if you don't have a bank account. i hope things will get better for you.... fanned you and made a bid

A friend of mine left this site because of the bids. You would expect to get credits for what you offer. I apologize for what is happening to you. I work in retail and see the same thing every day. Even though there is a standard price; they all want it cheaper

it just says PA and the box if it fits it ships is approx. 8.5 inches long 5 in. wide and about 2 in thick and its 5.35 what are the measurements of lamp sorry i didn't read all comments most of the time its cheaper to box in ur own box the next size up is 11.35 i believe it really depends on measurements but i am REALLY interested and i don't usually bid on stuff unless its free shipping(i'm on disability)

Well lemme catch u up to speed since you're not reading the other comments. This is the first item I ever listed, and didn't know anything, as you can see by not setting a start bid, so I'm kinda glad I didn't offer free shipping. I'm taking a HUGE hit on this piece....another member had suggested people bidding be fair and give me a fair price, but as it stands now, my loss and naivete is some one elses gain. I don't have anything handy to measure with, but it's no more than 12 inches with the globe on, less if removed. the globe is about the size of a 'pinkie' ball....smaller than a baseball...

That is quite all right. On all oil lamps is the maker of the burner. If it is really old there will be a different maker on the glass also. The shipping cost will probably run around $10-$12

Made in Hong Kong, which is also stamped on the bottom. I will try to put a few more pics up...at least the bottom stamp. I'm sure the marking on the wheel will not photograph well.

Lisa, next time you list an item go to edit and you can then set your bid starting price if you accidently didnt set one like on this item. I hope ALL that bid on this item help this new Listia member out and give her a fair amount of bids for this NICE item :-)

it's about 12 inches, and I'm gonna be honest with you here. I don't have a CLUE what I'm doing, as you could see by not having a starting bid. I don't know how payment is made. I'm very upset that I didn't set a starting bid and don't know if there's a way to fix this or I have to take the hit.
