Hi,
Thanks for your interest. I have listed all that are mentioned in the instruction book.
So, I would say not. I don't really know. I'm sorry. Singer customer service might know. I will try to find out.
Blessings,
Betty

ACTUALLY take that back...I just re read your description. The 301 and 404 that this one is listed for are the ONLY singer slant needle straight stitch machines. It WILL NOT fit a 201 221 etc which are low shank if it is indeed Part No. 16115. There is a BIG difference between a slant shank, which they started making in the 50's and the standard low shank. 301 and 404 are the only Slant Shank straight stitch machines Singer made that I can think of. The rest of the slant shanks wouldn't need it because they are already zig zag machines, and the other straight stitch machines, IE treadles, FW's etc... are mostly low shank.

PS...I own around 30 old Singers...Finally pared it down to mostly toys, but I know quite a lot about them. I would just hate for someone to think they could put this on their 221 Featherweight, when it won't fit. Too bad the singer rep didn't know the difference between standard low shank and slant shank.

If you examine the zig-zagger itself it will either have that actual part number on it, or it will say slant, slant shank or slantomatic.

It say 161157 on the actual main part. I listed the cam numbers off the cams.

P.P.S. I just happen to NOT have the slant one for some odd reason, and even though I swore I was done collecting singer stuff, I have fanned you and am bidding. I even have the 301 and 404. Which both happen to be FANTASTIC sewing machines for quilting. Will I ever use the zig-zigger? Probably not. I don't use the one that fits my Featherweight either. That's what the Viking is for. But usefulness never really was the reason for collecting anything was it? Value wise, this one is much more rare, as only 2 machines are all that would ever need it.

Hi, I have a Featherweight and I bought this for it. I have never used either on as I have a Janome Memory Craft and use it all the time. My husband gave me the Featherweight for a wedding present, because I have always wanted one. So that is why I keep it. I will probably never use it, but I love it. ???????????? LOL What I listed is what the instruction book that came with it lists. I really don't know for sure. But I did call Singer last week and they assured me it was right. ???? :)

I have a 201 and I wouldn't use it cuz it already zig zags!

My 201 doesn't zig zag....Are we talking the same black, built in motor looks like it might be a treadle reincarnated? GREAT machine for quilting, will sew through ANYTHING, but if yours zig zags I WANT IT! The 401 is a slant zig zag that uses pretty cams to make stitches no one uses, and the 301 is a straight stitch slant shank that uses the same Bobbin case the FW does. I must resist the urge to resume collecting sewing machines....I must resist.

Now I cant find the one that fits my featherweight...sigh. Yours is the slant I am pretty sure. You could just clamp it on your FW. It won't hurt it any, it just will painfully obvious whether or not it fits right. The needle won't line up with the right part of the zigzagger. Why I want this is beyond me too. I KNOW with absolute certaintly I will NEVER clamp it on my 301 or my 404 to zigzag anything. I will use my Viking or my Serger if I want a stitch that goes zig zag. I keep thinking it would be fun to try though. I also have almost ever buttonholer Singer ever made (pink and maroon are the magic box color for slant shank) and I have never used them either. The ibe in the square green plastic box, that is often used with a FW can also be used as a zigagger and used to make your little FW do some rather fancy looking embroidery. The instructions for that little one are printed in 1948 and go into amazing detail. I have always meant to try it, but, well, you know. FWs do a grand job of quilting. Why would I make it work that hard? My little baby was born in 1941, and my momma paid $5 for her in 1972. She is in almost pristine condition, and I don't want her to have to work any harder than she has to. At 71, she does a straight stitch better than many new machines. I do need a new bobbin case, as her original has a very small spot of rust on it. It doesn't seem to hurt anything, but well, you know, she is a regal Queen and should have NO rust.

Franstuff --- oops --- you are correct. I have the 401. The slant with the cams. I lose track. I collect machines too. I have too many!

The Singer model 201 always ONLY does a straight stitch whether it is an electric, handcrank, or treadle version. It does have adjustable stitch length and reverse, but without a buttonhole or zig-zag attachment, the 201 will do a straight stitch ONLY. The Singer zig-zag attachments came in 2 different versions for either low-shank or slant-needle machines, and the end of the box lid will state which version it is for, though the manual will refer to both versions. Check the box lid end.

FYI--use a Brillo pad to remove surface rust from your metal sewing machines parts (or anything else). It does a great job. The finish may be damaged underneath but will be smooth again. You can lightly coat any exposed metal with a bit of sewing machine oil then wipe clean to help prevent the rust from reappearing. Also, I wouldn't recommend buying a new bobbin case to replace an original Singer one as the reproduction parts are never as nice or work/fit as well as any original part.

I just realized you--the seller- live in Arkansas, too! We actually have been going to Lake Norfork for my entire life--even when I was in my mom's tummy, lol! We have a place near Mountain Home on the lake. It's always nice to "meet" someone online who is close to home! I actually live in Paragould, though. Nice auction!

Franstuff, for the rust you might try usin Bar Keepers Best Friend. It is in a cylinder container like Ajax and Comet. Does wonders with rust without scratching.
