they usually came in pairs, there were fur clips and cape clips etc. Kind of fell out of voque in the late 40's early 50's

i have a beauitful pair of shoe buckles from fance they are marcasite but im hanging on to those i looked them up and so far they worth 100.00 maybe by the time im 75 they might go up in auction for more lol

the other one is half of a belt buckle

It isn't broken, there is a mirror image piece that the hook slides into that holds the belt closed. the long bar next to the hook is what a piece of fabric wraps around and then is sewn shut to hold the buckle half.. I have several of them..

oh now i see one is sewn on and its the clip and the other one is sewn on other side and it holds the clip ok i figured it out but one promblem lol i dont think my mom had both she just found stuff and would buy it unknown to her what it is LOL
