The listing, Paperweight Made w/ Real Thistle from Mid Wales UK has ended.
Up for bid is the last of my paperweight collection that I am parting with as I anticipate a move, and downsizing. This was purchased at an estate sale in Florida.Bottom says "Made in Mid Wales", which was new to me! Mid Wales is the central region of Wales, just like it sounds! The region is sparsely populated, with an economy dependent on farming and small businesses, of which creating these paperweights, is one.
The paperweights are made from thistle gathered on the hillsides, then cast in resin, turned and polished smooth. The thistle fills the whole paperweight!
Measures just a bit over 3" across. Nice vintage condition! Smoke-free item.
