Yucca is a vegetable that looks like a dark brown long potatoe, but is much firmer and tastes different than a potatoe. Since I don't have alot of experience with growing alot of plants including yucca vegetable, I was asking if this plant produces the vegetable or if it only flowers.
I spoke with my hubby, who is Latino and he told me that this is not a yucca plant. It is called "flor de itabo". Yucca plant looks totally different. You can see it here: http://argalladas.enlugo.com/fotoblog/foto.67.php I learn something new tonight. :-)
You Say Yuca, I Say Yucca. There are many plants/tubers called yuca or yucca - some are safe to eat, some aren't. The following information was culled from a number of sources. http://www.anapsid.org/resources/yucca.html
