The listing, #-32- Joseph Cronin- Big League Chewing Gum Card- A Nostalgic Press Reprint has ended.
#32- This is a card of Joseph Cronin, A Big League Chewing Gum Card from Goudey Gum Co from Boston, Mass. The only yearly date on this card that I see is 1933. Joseph Cronin was a manager of the Washington Senators. He was the spark plug of the Washington Senators and also the manager of the team. He was a great shortstop with plenty of pep, a good arm and a strong batter. He had a tryout with the Pittsburg Pirates in 1926 but couldn't make the grade. Wasn't much of a hitter in those days but kept trying and was finally was one of the most timely batters of the Senators. When Pittsburg let him go, he played with Kansas City in the American Association until Washington bought him in 1928. He was born in San Francisco, CA on Oct 12, 1906. He batted and threw right-handed. He was 5 ft, 11 1/2 inches and weighted 180 lbs.
