A silvertone Trifari pin, in a swirled feather design. It is signed with the crown over the 'T' & the copyright sign...making it a late 50's-late 60's piece. 2 1/2" long X 2" wide. I actually found this at savers-a big thrift store in this area...so I'm passing it on to a collector!
Questions & Comments
Already your fan. Bid and watching. It's very pretty, unique. I love it.
I can't tell you how much I want this brooch. I just spent an hour on the Internet looking it up. I couldn't find this exact brooch but several that were very similar. The closest to it sells for $165.00. It has his stamp on and his signature curve to it. It's an incredibly rare find you have there. I'm praying you get even in the neighborhood of what it's worth.
Yes, I tried to look it up too, and only found lots of very similar pieces-some with the same feathers. I did find out that his signature/stamp was registered in the late 1700's. The hallmark on this pin has the crown and the copyright sign, which I guess dates it to the 1950's-1960's. Sometimes I think I have more fun researching old things, than in actually collecting them :-)
A woman after my own heart. I absolutely love researching things. Anyway, going by the time period for the closest matching peices I was thinking the 1940's. We could build us a research or PI business. LMAO. Have a fun couple hours until its over. Your Buddy, Janet
