no it will not turn your finger green, there is no wear on the band. Its basically a brand new ring... if you are using something like hand sanitizer thats all alcohol then it could cause wearing on the band but that would be due to user error. This is in perfect condition.

I would say engagement... When it comes to the wedding band I wouldn't settle for less
Than 925 silver and that's only if it's in a Tiffany's box lol. Otherwise I'd say stick with gold for the one you will be wearing forever :)
