Description

The listing, Unique ring has ended.

I have no idea what material this ring is made of. It looks like polished ivory with some type of dark stone added to it. I think it is size 7.

*No markings what so ever!

*Not completely round. A little irregular in shape but solid!

*Very smooth and comfortable!

* The inside of the band is a light orange/yellow color.

*Not plastic.

Purchased at an estate auction in Ohio with other items.

i can't be positive but i believe tis ring is made entirely of tigers eye. the stone is just polished to be very shiny. these rings are common in south africa and are normally made my tribe women and sold in markets to make money. my family lived there once upon a time. this is a very nice ring and anyone who wins this has quite a find.

I can believe that as I purchased this at an estate and the family said her parents traveled a lot. BUT, Seriously I do not have any idea.

I concur with forsake ,I know quite alot about stones, and this looks like it might be a Tiger's Eye. Other names for Tiger's Eye are: Falcon's Eye, Cat's Eye, or Hawk's Eye
Tiger's Eye will let you see everything. Use it for insight and you can be a very lucky person.

Tiger's eye is a Protective stone. Carry it with you to guard against the ill wishes of others.

OH, That is so interesting. Thank you so much for the insight! I just wish I knew the history. That would be so awesome if that were the case. Still I hope that people bid with no assumptions.

SHAWNEEFIREBIRD***If that is the case, does that mean it is a real Tigers eye or is that a run with words? I love tigers!

OK ,I just looked that up and understand that Tiger's Eye stones are semiprecious to precious mineral stones. Now, I see where this ring looks like it could be a golden or red tiger's eye. When viewed from head on, it looks like mother of pearl and from the side a kind of purple color. There are 2 thin darker lines that run deeper in the stone and silhouette each other closely. STILL, I do NOT know what this is for sure. Hope this helps. Thanks for looking;)

It is the two darker lines in the stone that give it the look of an eye. And NO, it is not a real Tiger's eye!
