Unsused 1960's San Francisco painting by Homer Ansley showing a unique view of all of San Francisco's attractions. A highly collectible card from the Golden Gate Bridge and Cable Car City. A must for the San Francisco resident or fan and sure to grow in value. Current Ebay price is $9 plus postage!
Questions & Comments
Homer Ansley (1895-1974) was born in Medical Lake, Washington. He moved to San Francisco in 1916 to study at the California School of Fine Arts and also attended the Art Students League in New York City. In 1915, he completed murals in Berkeley's John Muir High School and during the 1920s and 30s, maintained a studio in San Francisco. He worked for the Foster & Kleiser billboard Company, and during the 1940s was assistant state supervisor for the WPA and painted many of the World War II posters promoting bond sales, safety measures, and war production. He is known for portrait, figure, landscape, etchings and woodblock prints.
