The listing, 1920's Edgewater Beach Hotel, Chicago Post Card has ended.
The Edgewater Beach Hotel on right on the card was built in the form of a Maltese cross and had 400 rooms and opened in June,1916 and just 8 years later, a second building shown on left on post card opened with 600 additional rooms (initially called the Annex) opened in 1924. A passage9way called the passaggio connected the two buildings. The post card was issued as an advertising promotion card in 1925. The hotel complex was demolished over a 12 month period beginning in 1971. A great card of a former famous Chicago landmark. A great card for the Chicago resident, historian, teacher, persons who worked at or stayed at the resort hotel, or collectors of famous landmark post card.
