wow that sucks, would think listia would want to seperated in comparison to other sites, rather than follow there lead, and focus on things that are really messing up listia ,like the comments, and negative ones on positive peoples pages, and prevent new sellers from charging shipping and burning people, these cards have helped alot of people in many ways, paying bills, buying gas to get to work and other things that walmart cards and such cant buy, shouldnt the listia community have a say so in it ?

I agree, Wal-Mart cards are just the same as cash, considering walmart sells everything under the sun LOL

I am taking my wife out to dinner tonight, so I most likely won't be home after the auction, so whoever the winner is, please be sure to let me know which card you choose, I will get it out to you first thing Monday morning. Thanks everyone for bidding on what seems to be one of the last if not the last Visa Gift Cards available on Listia.

Thank tyhana! I don't think it's that big of a deal, really. I mean, a gift card of any kind really is just cash anyway ... we can still have fun within the rules.

Savage, Every auction I list for the rest of my time on Listia will have your name & what you did in it, I am on a mission to get rid of people like you from this site. I will be listing items that Listia can not deny on the Featured list, and in every post it will tell people to stay clear of you! You are a crook, and deserve nothing but to be treated as such!

No you tend to rip off high bidding customers, your a crook, and a fraud, Everybody on Listia knows it, and we are going to do our best to get you removed from this site. You blame other people for the auctions you don't & can't complete. Nice scam you did with the Visa GC & the Netbook you listed and used the points to win a Wii & never sent out the items you auctioned off. You Sir are a FRAUD!!!!!

I have just noticed that the guy who did the fraudulant auction for the $1000.00+ Visa Gift Card, that has created all this trouble, has a Listia Moderator posting good things on all his current auctions, which means basically Listia is promoting this guys shinanigans, If you see a moderator posting good stuff on an auction, you are lead to believe the person throwing the auction is a good member, because why would a moderator support a bad member. so I sent the moderator a message asking why he/she is doing such a thing, I don't feel I will be retaliated against for it, but I am posting this just everybody knows, in case my listing disappears all of a sudden LOL The following is what I sent to the moderator.

Hi _-_-_-_-_-, I am just wondering why a listia moderator has left remarks on auctions listed by a member that has frauded other Listia members by not fulfulling his auctions. Some people may see your post's on Savage's auctions & think it's ok to bid on his auctions, and might get stiffed in the end by him. I mean no disrespect to you, I am just upset with Savage for the shady dealings he is doing on Listia is all, and fear your comments will only help him in the future to conduct more fraud on Listia. Thanks for your time, Have a great weekend.

Sorry about my Paypal comment ... I got an e-mail from Pooch about the comments I was posting re: Paypal ... not allowed on Listia apparently--didn't realize that at the time! Listia is eliminating any sort of "cash" gift cards (Visa, MC, etc) so from now on you can only list store gift cards I guess! You can thank you-know-who for that ....

Yep, We can thank that d0uch3 b@g Savage for all these problems, one crook ruins it for everybody! I will still be doing Amazon & Wal-Mart gift cards, and after auctions end, I will work it out with the winner if they want some other kind of gift card. The funniest part about this whole thing is, you can win a Wal-Mart Gift Card, and go right down to Wal-Mart and use it to buy a Visa Gift Card, so it don't even make sense to try and ban the Visa GC. When in all reality they need to be getting rid of the jerks that keep posting auctions and not fulfilling their end of the agreement.

I agree with the last comment. There are many Listia members who for one reason or another are disabled and they spend a lot of time on there computer and on this site. They need those gift cards to survive.
it sure is a win win for everyone.
Also I whole heartedly agree not to let unproven new Listia members charge for shipping. I have seen that scam many times out ther. Just happened to me, altho I had suspecion that it was no good, I decided to trust. Well it came back and bit me!
Again about the gift cards, would it be safer to have the gift card or the money deposited in a 3rd party account so as to be on hand for the winner with out question?
Jul 23rd, 2010 at 10:24:10 PM PDT by
Original
Gift Cards are a great way to help out the seller & buyer both, I wouldn't have a problem depositing the money into a 3rd party account before listing the auction.

ATTENTION ALL PLEASE READ THIS CAME FROM A WELL RESPECTED AND REPUTABLE LISTIA MEMBER ABOUT THESE AUCTIONS,SHE HAPPENED INTO THIS SAME SITUATION ,IF YOU DISAGREE WITH THIS DECISION PLEASE SUPPORT THE LISTIA COMMUNITY IN THIS
"As of July 22, 2010 Listia is no longer allowing gift cards to be listed. Any cards listed prior to that date will remain on the site, but ANY gift card auctions listed on July 22 or after are being removed! I was not told the "reason" why, but I think we all know "who" started this by not honoring his end of the deal.......

I mentioned to the moderator that I emailed about it if they would consider putting a "limit" of either $25.00 or $50.00 on any future listings, could they be listed? I was told that "maybe" IF enough people complained about it, they may, but could not guarantee anything.

So, I am asking you all too please help me in sending a message to Listia and asking them if they will consider it. I enjoy listing gift cards as it helps to build up credits AND it helps my Listia Family to get items they need that they would normally not be able to. It is a win-win situation for us all."

Please if you are reading this consider contacting Listia and let your voice be heard. Listing at least the smaller level gift cards helps buyers and sellers alike!

is it gonna be the card or just the code of the card cause i will need the whole card for where i live

Where you live has no bearing on weather you need the card or just the code, the code is for online purchases. But yes I can send the card in the mail if you so choose.

There are a few reasons, but it's just that Visa gift cards handle too much like cash. They can be used anywhere, much like cash can. While Amazon and Wal-Mart gift cards are limited to the one place they are valid at. (Another popular auction site also has this as a rule for the same kinds of reasons).

Because of the change, rather than remove all the auctions at once, we're allowing all the auctions started on the 21st or earlier to stay listed until they complete. Any new auctions from the 22nd on will be enforced by the rule. If you have any other questions, I'd be glad to try and answer the best I can.

What's the problem with Visa Gift cards vs. Wal-Mart or Amazon Cards?
I am not sure what Listia want's anybody to do anymore? 1 day everything is fine, the next it's not??? I have personally seen Visa Gift Cards on a Featured auction before. I guess I just don't get it. If this is the case, Listia needs to stop letting people charge cash money for shipping as well. I know it's not your fault tyhana, but I just don't understand. I just saw a Visa Gift Card that was on feature go for just around 100,000 points, and was worth over $1000 how can one be featured, and others be removed? Thanks. :0)

be careful it is against Listia rules to list Prepaid credit cards (or money gift cards) from American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa

I appriciate your concern & the info, But Listia would be hard pressed to say anything about my auction for a Visa Gift Card when the last one I posted had moderators bidding on it lol, plus not only that they have Featured many Visa Gift Cards in the not so distant past :0)

Just block that guy ... he was doing that on another auction I saw so I already blocked him. Question ... if I win would you mind sending me the money via Paypal instead of with a gift card? I just won another gift card and the seller offered to do that ... I guess she had not already purchased the card. For me, that's a great choice, I use Paypal all the time for buying stuff on the internet, and can also just transfer the money back to my bank!
Jul 22nd, 2010 at 7:35:40 PM PDT by
Original
I have no problem with that, but Listia has already removed that option from one of my recent auctions, they said it is against Listia rules. Plus transferring funds through paypal wopuld mean that the buyer would be shorted about 11% due to the paypal charge for doing the transfer. The problem would be who would want to give up that amount of money. But I am flexable as to how you can get your winnings from me, as long as I am only putting $50.00 out of my pocket. :0)
