Holds a charge fine, includes a short, micro USB to USB cord to recharge the battery pack. You can also use it to connect a micro USB charge port phone or tablet for charging, or use your own cable - just plug the USB end into the USB port on the battery pack, and the other end in to your phone or device's charging port, then push the button to begin charging.
This is not strong enough to fully charge most modern smartphones, but can certainly give you enough juice to make some calls or send texts in case of emergency, etc.
