The listing, Love That Money! New Tract has ended.
The Bible warns that “the love of money is a root of all sorts of injurious things, and by reaching out for this love some have... stabbed themselves all over with many pains.” — 1 Timothy 6:10. Note that it is the love of money —not money itself— that brings harm.
What Does the Bible Say About Money? Has Money …
Servants of the Lord in the Bible are rich, like Abraham, and poor, like John the Baptist. Paul warns that the love of money, not money itself, is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10). With that said, amassing a vast fortune is not sin, but it does bring more temptation to make money the ultimate focus instead of the Lord.
No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
