Description

The listing, 1920s Nogales Brewery Co. Mexico Prohibition Promotion Post Card has ended.

Offered is a 1920's Prohibition promotional post card featuring the Nogales Brewery Co. sidewalk service. "A Summers Evening on the Plaza Nogales, Son. Mexico" across the top. The card shows several well dressed men and women and old 1920's car and other businesses on the plaza. The card was mailed 14 Jan, 1931 with an old Mexico stamp. A great card from a time of Prohibition in the US and Mexico border towns were popular stops by US tourists. The person mailing the card to a friend back in the now ghost town of Beecher Island, Colorado joked about Prohibition when he wrote "Hello Folks, You ought to be with us and get a cool one. Ha! Adolph"

Original
The 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch post card was interestingly made for the Nogales Brewery Co by the Curt Teich and Co. of Chicago, Illinois--a city well aware of Prohibition!
