The listing, AUTHENTIC ANTIQUE OIL PRINT has ended.
Well, I call her Sarah for lack of a better name, Portrait of a Girl (Study or Song) 1769
Musée du Louvre, Paris, France
Oil on canvas, 66 x 82 cm
The above stated is where the original portrait hangs, and when it was made, the artist is Jean Honore Fragonard. I believe this painting (oil on canvas) print copy was auctioned off at some point in time, at the Museum Du Louvre, due to the interesting hand written notes on the bottom. There was an accident, she must have gotten in the middle of a quarrel, because it looks as if someone threw their drink against the wall and she got splash back. So, I hope she can find a great home of an oil collector so she can be cleaned properly. It doesn't really show from a distance. But up really close you can tell. The frame it was in broke into peices, so this is just the oil on canvas. please note pics for the writing on the bottom, the last pic is of the original painting that still resides in the museum! Still,1769?! Thats really really old!
I am sure this wasn't made too long after.
