FREE: Very Old US 5c Stamp from 1890 with Ulysses S. Grant

Here's another old US stamp-- it's a 5c brown with a portrait of Ulysses S. Grant, I believe it is Scott number 223 from 1890. It is in used condition with what seems like a pretty light postmark for such an old stamp. It has a value in Scott's of $4.50, so pretty nice.

Here's the bigger scoop: My mom and stepdad both passed away over the past couple of years, and I've been going through some of their old stuff-- they were both dedicated "savers" of everything. In some ways, I guess they were borderline "hoarders." My stepdad collected stamps, and this is from his collection-- although it's more like a giant pile of messy album pages and envelopes.

I think people should have fun bidding on stuff-- that's what auctions are all about! So the starting bids for my stuff will always be is FIVE credits, and we go from there, no matter HOW valuable something might be.
