FREE: Old US 10c Stamp from 1898 with Daniel Webster

Here's another old US stamp-- it's a 10c orange-brown with a portrait of Daniel Webster. It has a watermark, and it looks like "type II" so I believe it is Scott number 283 from 1898. It is in used condition with a fairly modest postmark. Looks pretty nice although there is some thinning of the paper on the back. It has a catalogue value of $5.50 per Scott's.

Here's the bigger scoop: My mom and stepdad both passed away over the past couple of years, and I've been going through some of their old stuff-- they were both dedicated "savers" of everything. In some ways, I guess they were borderline "hoarders." My stepdad collected stamps, and this is from his collection-- although it's more like a giant pile of messy album pages and envelopes.

I think people should have fun bidding on stuff-- that's what auctions are all about! So the starting bids for my stuff will always be is FIVE credits, and we go from there, no matter HOW valuable something might be.
