OK these are a pair of translucent ball studs. No markings. These really are the oddest earrings I have ever owned and heres why...I came accross this pair of earrings at a thrift store in town they where the whitest white ever when I bought them. I wore them a few times and then they evenly changed to a translucent color as seen in the picture. I was shocked! The thrift store booth had three pairs so I went and purchased a second pair just as white as could be. I wore the second pair for two days and they also turned evenly translucent. Its the stangest thing to me and I am tempted to go buy the third pair cause I am still puzzled. I have two so I am listing the first pair on here. They have a solid stone feel they are not plastic. I am not sure what they are made of, if anyone has an idea leave a comment.

Heh, I got 5 creds on this bid. Anyhow, i have no clue, tho i did google it. Some kind of porosity or a coating that comes off, tho a coating's not implied. Opals, I read, change colors, and are very porous, but there's just not a white opal that looks anything like your pix. White jade? I know so little about this. Jewelers out there, what say you? Go buy the third pair and do NOT wear them, keep them sealed even, for a control in your little experiment. TY for listing.

Good luck I am not expecting them to go too high cause I don't even know what they are made off lol I am so going to buy that third pair and I bet a local jeweler might know. I don't think they are opal and they do look like a white jade but i am unsure. They didn't seem to have a coating and they evenly changed and nothing came off as far as i know my ears were clean when I took them off and my skin felt normal. Like on both pairs they completely and evenly changed. I have never seen aything like it and its been puzzling me for a good 2 months.

I even had my mom check out how white the second pair was before I wore them and now they are the same translucent color as this pair...

Could be quartz, the chemicals in your body could have changed them. Also quartz absorbs energy and could also change the color. They look like quartz.

Maybe have your sister wear the third pair and see if they do the same thing, like someone said it could be a chemical change. If they don't change on her, then you wear them and if they change, I'd be going to a Dr. to get your blood tested. Not to scare you but it is very strange. Now I know that gold can turn dark on people when their hormones change, it does it to me during my time of the month. I think it has to do with acidity in your body. Have you asked your Dr,? he/she may have a clue.

thinking their a synthetic pearl. they are earings with a white pear like coating on a glass, plastic, and some times stone bead. when worn in the shower the synthetic pear easily wears off ruining its look and leaving you with whatever was underneath.
