The listing, Golden Torch Flowering Cactus! has ended.
Flowering Cactus! For scale, please check out my profile photo. Auction is for the cutting of this hardy selection of Echinopsis spachiana shown in photo. They took a very hard frost last year (10 F), but you might want to protect them while they are young and bring them in for the winter if you are in a colder area. For more information and more photos please see my blog: <http://harvestsgardeningsecrets.blogspot.com/2012/08/golden-torch-cereus.html>. (Take out the space)
The new growth on the cutting is about 2" tall and growing roots, the old section is about 9" tall. 1/4 of the old column should be planted below the surface off some very gritty well drained potting mix, or it can be laid on its side. Once it roots into the ground or in a decent sized container it will likely develop more new growth.
I totally want the shipping to be worth your while. If you win more than one auction I can combine shipping. Also each time the bidding goes up 100 points, I will add a cutting or division of another succulent or cactus--until I run out or the box is full.
Shipping is by priority flat rate--in the US only, and includes tracking. Shipping is $12. 75 if paid by regular PayPal as if you are making a purchase. If paid by PayPal personal or by US Postal Money Order it is $12.10-- for the medium box.
I generally pack orders for which I have addresses and shipping paid by the evening before, on Sundays and Tuesdays and ship on Mondays and Wednesdays. This prevents your plants from getting stuck in a cooking hot truck over the weekend.
We need to talk about thorns. These thorns are intense, persistent, and treacherous. They will draw blood! You need some heavy duty leather gloves to handle these puppies. Be prepared when you open the box.
All my plants are grown without chemicals of any kind. Smoke and tobacco free home.
GIN of 2000 credits available if you request it before anyone bids.
