Offered is a 1948 ArtCraft First Day Cover honoring the Four Chaplains. When a troop ship was torpedoed, the four chaplains gave up their life jackets to others, ministered to the dying, and remained on the sinking ship rather than save themselves. NOTE This offered FDC is addressed not shown in picture)

Questions & Comments

The Four Chaplains became World War II heroes who represented the Catholic, Jewish and Protestant religions that went down with the USS Dorchester when it was torpedoed during World War II. The first day cover looks great framed and makes a nice gift for members of the clergy.
