Robert Griffin III 2012 Topps Football 1957 ROOKIES Green Card!

For collectors, hobby boxes almost always offer more bang and value than their retail counterparts. However, retail packs often have exclusive cards that can prove to be tough to find in the long-run, especially after unopened product has disappeared from shelves. 2012 Topps Football has one such set with a series of 1957 Rookies Green inserts.

They come from 72-card mini hanger boxes that promise 16 rookie cards in every box. A note on the top corner of the box says one of the 2012 Topps Football 1957 Rookies Green cards are inside. The mini boxes carry a suggested price of $9.99. They look almost the same as the pricier boxes that guarantee a Rookie Relic card.

Now here's where things get a little tricky. While the 2012 Topps Football 1957 Rookies Green set has a total of 30 cards, the checklist has just 15 players. Each rookie has two consecutive spots on the checklist. Other than the number, the different cards are hard to spot. The portraits on the left are the same, however the action shots on the right are different. This makes it difficult when browsing for singles online and sellers don't list the card number.

To make things even more complicated, odd and even numbers come from different stores. The Odd-numbered cards come from Target while the even numbers are found at Walmart. If that weren't enough, there are also blue and red versions that come out of different retail packs. Overall, the odd numbers are popping up much less frequently, likely because of Target's smaller market share compared to Walmart.

This card was pulled and it quickly went into a soft sleeve so the condition is as close to "Like New - As Pulled" as you can get!

The Card will ship via USPS, usually within 24 - 48 hours of receipt of your Listia confirmed shipping address.

Honestly for me, those hangers are a great value, sometimes better than a hobby jumbo pack, especially when they become 40% off.
If anybody else is at wal mart and you see the different hanger boxes, $10 and $15. Like this seller mentioned, $15 for the one that includes rookie jumbo relic. What can happen sometimes, is there might not be a price tag for $15. They will just put them all together. When you check out and they say $15, you say there is no tag saying $15, only $10. They will mark it down and additional 20% off for having the wrong price marked down. I got 2 hanger boxes with the relic for $8 each.
