THe Hotel Loraine in Madison Wisconsin opened in 1924 with a 10 story 250 room hotel that featured a Crystal Ballroom on the top two floors. It was so successful 100 more rooms were added and later remodeled to total 400 rooms! The hotel played guest to JFK, Truman, Gloria Swanson, Mae West and other famous people into the 1960's when it was converted to a State Office Building and has since been turned in a condominium apartment complex. This is unused card is from the glory days of the landmark hotel. The card is a great item for the Madison resident, historian or teacher as well as collectors of cards of grand hotels or former landmarks.
