Are these annuals or perennials?

well, that depends on your USDA hardiness zone, tiffany . . . here in OzTown, Tax_US, we straddle between zones 8b and 9a . . . that link i provided for more info - did you use it, first? - it would tell you the plant is hardy -perennial- in zones 5 - 9. from your auction listings i see that you are in Purdy, MO . . . so i think you're where it would be perennial - - go to THIS web page and enter your zipcode into the form and it will return an answer with you correct USDA hardiness zone :

http://www.garden.org/zipzone/

now that does not mean it will not GROW as an annual in climates which are colder or hotter than the range of 5 - 9 ... just do not expect it to be perennial in lower or higher zones . . . frankly it will thrive in zones up to a good tropical 12 if it is sown next to water, such as a pond, pool, water feature . . . one of its names is Swamp Mallow . . . give it additional water to compensate for more tropical heat and it will be a happy camper.

now there are things you have to do for this plant to help its hardiness, such as how to prune it in the fall, how much to mulch it through winter, and what to do as soon as your last frost in the springtime has passed.

i hope that helps - please bid & good luck!
