Are they sealed against water? How thick are they?

They are covered in decoupage so I don't know if that is sealed against water or not. I made these at MOPS meeting. They are probably about 1/2 an inch thick. I used them more to set hot pans and stuff on the table than using them as coasters. Hope this helps! :)
