Because the top of the purse is smaller than the bottom and I need to see if my "tablet" will fit thru there.

It's actually the same it just has a button inside the top u can button that makes it look tapered but the opening is 11x6 it will open farther but that's the measurement with it relaxed. It would hold a tablet easily though. Thanks and good luck.
