Up for bid is a 1941 WWII War Department publication: Advanced Map and Aerial Photograph Reading Basic Field Manual. Book is in good used condition (softcover). Very clean inside. 190 pages. 4.5" x 7.5". It has a pull-out map in the back (see photo).

"FM 21-26 Advanced Map and Aerial Photograph Reading 1941-09-17 "The purpose of this manual is to provide a text on map and aerial photography reading for training of military personnel already familiar with basic elements covered by FM 21-25 or who require more detailed instruction than is furnished by FM 21-25.

Table of contents includes: distance; direction, orientation, and location; coordinates; elevation and relief; slope, profile, and visibility; aerial photographs; identification of terrain features on single photograph; stereovision and examination; preparation of aerial photographs for use as map substitute; and photomaps."

Also included is the instructions for a Brunton U.S.A. Compass. It was inside the manual, so I decided to include it.
