Columbine ~ this favorite perennial produces long stems w/ showy, spurred blossoms in shades of red, blue, yellow & white from late Spring to early Summer. Ideal for borders & woodland gardens as well as for floral arrangements. Hardy from Zones 4 to 10.
Sow ~ seeds indoors 6 - 8 weeks before the last frost date for earliest blossoms. Cover seeds w/ 1/8inch of soil & keep evenly moist. Transplant seedlings outdoors to a sunny to partial shade location w/ moist, well-drained soil after all danger of frost is past. Seeds may also be sown directly outdoors after danger of frost.
Thin~ or transplant seedlings to a final spacing of 18 inches apart when they are 3 inches tall.
Garden Hints ~ Remove faded flowers.
