Boston, 1979. Adam, the CIA cryptanalyst, moves to the country with his wife Emma. His supervisors fear they won't be able to keep him safe, but Adam believes he needs to find a peaceful place close to nature to try and crack a military code. Their work may change the course of the Cold War, but their new home turns out to be very different from the peaceful place they expected... In the attic, Adam finds a mysterious diary written by one Nicolas Hyde, who would have lived in this house in the 19th century . Opened, the diary brings nightmares from the past to current times, putting Adam and Emma's lives in danger.
