In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shine in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
That was the true Light, which light every man that come into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
John see Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which take away the sin of the world.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

Everyone needs God's grace. We may not always act like we need God, and sometimes we may not think we need God—but we do. As long as we are sinful, we need a Savior. We can try to hide our weaknesses and act like we have it all together, but in doing so we miss the opportunity to experience God's power that allows us to move forward in grace.

Pride can keep us from readily admitting and confessing our sins, but this afternoon's verse in Acts tells us to repent and be converted. When we repent, we're acknowledging things we have done that are not pleasing to God; things that go against His nature and who He is. Repentance is the act of admitting and turning away from our wrongdoing so we can know God.

By confessing our sins, our lives can change in profound ways. Once we have repented, God removes our sin and refreshes our souls.

God, thank you for refreshing me. Please humble my heart and help me turn to you instead of trusting in my own strength. I can't grant myself forgiveness or refresh my own soul, but you can. Give me a clean heart that desires to serve you more than my selfish desires. And when I sin, help me realize your great love for me and let me turn to you. In Jesus' name, amen.

Being refreshed by God also allows us to reload. But this time in His strength and power, so our hearts and minds are responding in the right way.

We must not allow pride to keep us from experiencing God's forgiveness and His times of refreshing. These are wonderful gifts that our hearts and souls desire.

God loves us more than we will ever know and cares for us in ways we will never fully understand."

Dear Lord, I want to truly walk in your grace. It's so easy to get caught up in work and family and friends and obligations and responsibilities. These things, while good, can cause me to lose sight of your grace. I want more of you, Jesus. I want to walk with you always. Help me to have a spirit of grace, because I know the one who is Grace. In Jesus' name, amen.
