Lemme see . . . yep this is Listia, not eBay, so I think you're safe in assuming this ring is NOT amber, just amber-coloured. It may be a stone, which amber is not, or glass or some other material. The lister does not specify the purity of the "silver" so one must assume that there are no hallmarks on the metal, which is probably silver-toned base metal. Of course, that's just my own amateur opinion but I bet a buck I am right. Hope that helps you, Mich . . . Oh hell, you bid before you got an answer from the lister - you're gonna get it.
