A variety of names for this plant include Celtuce, stem lettuce, Chinese lettuce, Laucca sativa var. augustana, angustata, and asparagina; I used 200 seeds of this variety in my first year of growing. China and Taiwan are major markets for this rare cultivar due to its strong stem and lush foliage. This is the story of my struggle, from planting the seed to harvesting the adaptable veggie.
