This is a Rare 1939 Hubley Texan Rearing Horse Grip Toy Cap Gun. It is in good condition with normal age wear per the photo's, but it does need some love to take it back to it's Glory Days. It will need and end bolt for the screw in the middle area of the gun. Right now a wire is holding it together. It will also need a new hammer. There is a little rust trying to start inside. These guns are rare and very hard to find. Sold as Is. No Returns. Made of a Cast Metal Heavy Pre WWII Metal. Any Questions please ask before you purchase. I ship to the USA. No International Shipping. Thanks for looking

As most dedicated cap gun collectors are aware, HUBLEY CAST IRON CAP GUNS with the rearing horse logo set in the grips were only produced for a very short time beginning in 1939. By 1940 they were replaced with the more common "star" logo. This came about because the Colt Firearms Company accused Hubley of copyright infringement of Colt's rearing horse logo. They forced Hubley to cease its use. This makes these early guns more highly coveted than the later "star" version. And, obviously a much smaller number were produced making them more difficult to find. The gun frame is solid cast iron as is the cylinder (later replaced with a diecast cylinder after WWII).
