This was issued to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Great Barrington, Ma. located in the Berkshires in Massachusetts. Issued in association with the National Mahawie Bank, now defunct/obsolete. These are not easy to find as Great Barrington was, at this time, a much smaller community than today. It has a value of 5 cents which could be redeemed through participating merchants or you could get a nickel for it at the bank. It made for a nice gift as it would pay for 5 large pieces of candy, a large candy bar or a soda at a fountain. Mailed correctly and shipped free. Sales on EBAY range from $6.00-$10.00 plus shipping.
