Not sure. I do not think they pull apart like regular embroidery thread. Just a strand, but would work for cross stitch. May be some one else would know more. I even think they would make a cute decoration setting out in a bowl or for any sewing need.
Punch thread is too thick for most regular sewing projects. I would also venture to say that it is too thick for cross stitch as well because it would be difficult to keep the stitches from looking too tall.
Is it designed to be used with those battery operated type of punches? I know the yarn for those is very thin compared to the regular punch tool. I love the battery type but do not know where to find one. Any ideas?
It a special thread used for the battery punch needle. I believe they did have just a plane hand held one. I did some of this work years ago maybe in the 70's.
