To grow luffa sponge gourd from seeds, you can follow these steps: The Seed Collection
Start your seeds indoors in April if you live in a cooler climate. Move the plants outdoors once the last spring frost has passed. Plant the luffa somewhere they'll receive 8 hours of sunlight each day. Water the plants when the top 1 inch (2.5 cm) of soil is dry to the touch. Seeds should germinate in around 14-21 days at a soil temperature of 25-30°C. Transplant seedlings to the garden once they have their first true leaves and are large enough to handle (usually 5-10cm tall). Plant out, spacing plants 50cm apart, with rows 75cm apart. Luffa is a tender crop that’s sensitive to frost.
