Ellie is Jenny's friend...Jenny is the 'Japanese Barbie' sort of....there is also a Licca doll (pronounced Ricca) which is popular in Japan

Box states "Ellie dresses well and fashionably. She is a woman with personality. Her feeling for the international constantly influences people around her." (Well that part on the box is in English - most everything else is in Japanese)

She seems to exude internal confidence.

Takara is the main doll maker of shelf dolls in Japan - this doll was made and sold on the Japanese market.
