Questions & Comments
its def a replica. but i dont care about that. is it real silver? I figure you would have to know. If i had a coin that was the rarest us dollar coin and it could be worth six figures i would have gotten it checked out before putting it on listia... Ill bid if it silver
Thanks for information about this coin and the site to compare it to. I was going to bid but now I agree that it just doesn't match up. Thanks again for keeping me from wasting my credits.
I'm 72 yo and don't really care what any one else really thinks. I've described this coin to the best of my ability. I'm a full time RV'r and on the road a lot, so I where don't know where any coin shops are and don't really care to pursue it anymote than I have.
this coin was not made in 1804 chrisschoner. Even the orginals werent made until 1834. This coin was a newer replica with the date being a replica as well. Its only worth the silver value of $32 an ounce if this is real silver
I don't know what you mean by "how is was it for". I bought it from a country store in Detroit, Oregon. Driving my RV, I stopped to buy some soda and at the checkout I saw that there was a silver dollar in the cash register and asked if it was for sale. It was and I bought it for the silver content and paid $30.00 for the coin. That is how I came by the coin.
Without seeing it in person I would say this is most likely and old repro. Still a nice copy coin and the closest thing a collector would get to the real thing. Very cool.
